[Outline] The Graduate School of Economics at Hitotsubashi University invites applications for a tenured associate professor position or a full professor position, starting on April 1, 2021 or September 1, 2021. We are interested in candidates with research interests in the fields of applied microeconomics. The rank of the selected candidate will depend upon the candidate's qualifications. [Number of position] 1 or 2 [Employment status] tenured associate/full professor The successful candidate will teach mainly applied microeconomics courses (especially industrial organization, international economics or development economics) for graduate students and for undergraduate students. In addition, she/he will be expected to teach core course subjects such as Introductory Economics. A successful candidate is supposed to teach 6 credits in addition to two undergraduate seminar classes and one graduate seminar class. Two credits mean class meeting twice a week during an academic quarter (6.5 weeks). Seminar class meets once a week through all academic quarters. Each class is 105 minutes long. Administrative duties include shared responsibility for committee membership and entrance examinations. |

Requirements for the position: (1) Ph.D. in Economics (or related fields) (A copy of certificate should be submitted after job decision). (2) Fluent communication skills and teaching skills in English (3) Candidate must have ability to advise students in Japanese or English and to perform administrative tasks (such as producing documents and participating in meetings) in Japanese. |
