My recent work revolves around axiomatic decision theory, in particular decisions under uncertainty. I enjoy working on the very fundamentals of theoretical models where surprisingly much can still be discovered. I believe that good theory and good empirics go hand in hand. In my work, I often employ information theoretic concepts to capture phenomena such as information preferences, decision times, or consumer freedom.
I teach courses on microeconomics, game theory, and decision theory, with a special emphasis on theoretical models that connect to data from experiments and observed behavior. In my teaching, I focus on fostering conceptual understanding by encouraging students to actively engage with the material themselves. By embracing mistakes, we create a supportive environment where even the most challenging concepts can be mastered.
